Get the Whip out this evening!

WHIPPHOUND 5.30 Kempton (7/1 general)
The Mark Brisbounre stable is gradually coming back to top form after a lean spell and the same can be said for this gelding who has been running a little better recently than his poor finishing positions suggest. Having had a summer break, Whipphound looks to be getting back towards peak fitness and that could make him a value proposition for this contest.
Twice a winner over 6f on Polytrack (albeit at Wolverhampton) he looked held off a mark in the mid 70’s in the spring. However he did run well enough at places like Newmarket and Haydock to suggest he had trained on and was still capable of winning at a modest level.
Although he has beaten only two horses home in three races this winter, he looked badly in need of the run on the first two occasions, but went much better at Wolverhampton last time, beaten only 2l despite getting no clear run in the straight. A drop of 3lbs in the weights will help, plus the change to the more experienced Tom McLaughlin to take the ride, who partnered the gelding to his first career win and can hopefully plot a clearer course today.
