World Cup match betting – England v Slovenia

June 23rd, 2010 by Michael Hughes RSS Feed for Michael Hughes

The only proof of whether Fabio Capello has completely lost his way with England will come this afternoon. His experience should tell him that they were solid qualifiers and are a class above Slovenia so just go out and play, but pressure does funny things.

England shouldn’t be 5-11 to win this, but they are with Coral. Then again given the first two games in the group everything seems to be attractive in this tie, with Slovenia as big as 8-1 with Skybet and the draw 7-2 with Bet365.

Even accounting for our pro-England bias, we have to call this as an England win, though. They are just too strong and know they must win to get through.

We’ll throw in a couple of anytime scorer possibles. John Terry has to be in given his week and he is 8-1 with extrabet and William Hill, while Glen Johnson has come forward on a few occasions and he is 9-1 with Ladbrokes, Paddy Power, extrabet and Bet365.
